Completing a training course

After you launch a training course, you are taken to the training player, where you complete the individual elements of the course.

Depending on its configuration, a training course may include different types of learning materials, training sessions, tests and quizzes, discussions, and other activities.

Starting and continuing a training course

To start a training course:

  1. Go to the My Trainings section.
  2. Find the relevant training course.
  3. Select the option to launch the training.
  4. Start the first available element.

You do not have to complete the entire training course in one session. You can stop learning and return to it later.

When you reopen an unfinished training course, MyLearningDay takes you to the first element you have not yet completed. You do not need to find the place where you should continue on your own.

Navigating through a training course

The training structure shows the elements that you can or must complete. The currently opened element is displayed in the main area of the player.

While learning, you can check which element is currently active, move to previous and next elements, identify elements you have already completed, and monitor your overall training progress.

As you complete subsequent elements, MyLearningDay updates your progress and marks the elements that have been completed.

If you need more space to view the learning content, you can switch the player to full screen mode. You can return to the standard view at any time.

Note: Your ability to move to subsequent elements may depend on the structure and configuration of the training course. Some elements may require you to complete other parts of the course first.

Completing learning materials

A training course may contain different types of learning materials. How you complete them depends on the type of element currently open.

You may, for example, read text materials and documents, view PDF files, watch videos, use content embedded in the training course, open external materials, and complete interactive content, including SCORM packages.

After you finish working with a material, move to the next available element of the training course.

Video materials

If a training element contains a video, start playback and watch the required part of the material.

Depending on the training configuration, fast forwarding may be restricted. In this case, watching the entire video may be required to complete the training element.

Note: If you are required to watch the entire video, remain in the browser window where the material is playing. If you switch to another window or minimize the browser, playback is paused automatically because the material is no longer being actively viewed.

Fast forward restrictions may apply to videos uploaded directly to MyLearningDay as well as materials provided through YouTube or Vimeo.

Participating in training sessions

A training course may include sessions scheduled for a specific date and time, such as online meetings or other planned activities.

If sessions have been scheduled, you can quickly check their schedule from the horizontal bar in the training player. Open the list of scheduled sessions to view detailed information without having to find each session in the training structure.

Show the expanded list of scheduled sessions available from the horizontal player bar, together with detailed date and time information.

You can also open a specific session directly from the training structure.

To participate in a session:

  1. Open the relevant training element.
  2. Check the date, time, and session details.
  3. When it is time for the session, use the available option to join.
  4. If you can confirm your attendance yourself, do so according to the information displayed for the session.

How attendance is recorded depends on the session configuration. If self confirmation is not available, attendance is recorded by the training administrator or session instructor.

Important: Self confirmation of attendance is not available for every session. If you do not see the relevant option, you do not need to take any additional action.

Taking tests and quizzes

A training course may include tests and quizzes that assess your knowledge.

To complete a test or quiz:

  1. Open the relevant training element.
  2. Start an attempt.
  3. Answer the questions.
  4. Move between questions using the available navigation.
  5. When you have answered the questions, finish the attempt.
  6. Check your score and pass status.

After you complete an attempt, MyLearningDay may display your score, pass status, and any available next steps.

Show the screen displayed after completing a quiz, including the score, pass status, and, if available, the option to start another attempt.

Note: Quiz rules depend on their configuration. They may differ in areas such as the required passing score, the number of available attempts, and whether correct answers can be displayed after the quiz is completed.

If another attempt is available, you can start the quiz again according to the information displayed in the player.

Using discussions

Discussions may be available within a training course, allowing you to communicate with other participants.

A discussion may be available for a specific training element or as a separate element in the training structure. In the latter case, it can serve as a shared discussion space for training participants.

To use a discussion:

  1. Open the element for which a discussion is available, or go to the separate discussion element.
  2. Review the existing posts.
  3. Add your own post or reply to another participant's message.
  4. Publish your message.

Note: Discussions do not have to be available in every training course or for every training element. Their availability and position in the training structure depend on the course configuration.

Completing a training course

Your training progress is updated as you complete subsequent elements.

To complete a training course:

  1. Complete the elements in accordance with the training structure.
  2. Complete all required materials and activities.
  3. Check the training structure to see which elements have already been completed.
  4. If the training includes sessions, tests, or other required activities, make sure that all completion requirements have been met.
  5. After completing all required elements, check the training status.

Note: Completion requirements may differ between training courses. They may include completing specific materials, attending training sessions, or achieving a required test score.

After you complete the training course, its status is updated accordingly in the My Trainings section.

If a certificate is awarded for completing the training course, it will be available in accordance with the rules defined for that course.
